Our Story

Mt. Adams Bar and Grill, 938 Hatch Street, was built in 1875 and has had many lives through the years. This one began in 1987 when Eddie Sheppard bought it after creating the Blind Lemon next door. He set his sights on recreating a tavern of years gone by filled with antiques, stained glass and memorabilia that captivate customers while they enjoy cocktails and great comfort food.

It is within walking distance to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Art Museum and Krohn Conservatory as well as being in a historic hilltop neighborhood overlooking downtown Cincinnati.

Our Menu

Our food matches our old world style. It is a place of comfort and friendly faces with homemade soups, salad dressings, salads and desserts. It has become a neighborhood staple.

Been here a few times and every time I’ve been impressed. Reasonable menu prices with a great selection. Ask for Emma, she’s an excellent server!

What a fun place with great food. The reviews on here got me interested and the whole experience was awesome.Real neat looking building on the outside and the vibe was super fun on the inside. I ordered a single cheeseburger as the description said it was 1/4 lb. But the patty is smaller than you think so don’t be scared of the double.Chips are the default side dish and I missed that on the menu. Ruffles are fine but their fries are rather tasty. My wife loved her veggie burger and the homemade lemonade was ridiculously tart! Hurt your jaw tart. :-)We got lucky and found street parking just a block away; it’s really snug in the neighborhood.

The food here is always very good quality. The service is great as well. This place is in a great side of town and has a very neat interior! It is also reasonably-priced. I’d return to this place as long as it stands and stays the same! I love it.

It was a really nice place to eat. They have a back area, which is where we sat, and it was really nice. The food was delicious. I had a Rumbletini to drink it was very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive from the moment we walked through the door. I will definitely be back.

Matt, bar manager, runs Mt Adams Bar and Grill in Mt. Adams and is fantastic. Food is above average with a decent amount of choices. We have had the club sandwiches, grilled cheese, various soups and salads and all were good. The atmosphere is old time Mt Adams and is very cozy, comfortable. Prices are moderate and pours for the alcohol drinks are generous. Definitely a place to visit when in Cincinnati!

I am a bit of a reuben snob and I have to say the reuben did not disappoint. It was delicious! The fries were awesome too. We went for lunch and we didn't have a single issue finding a parking spot. We'll be back for sure!

Love the atmosphere, a cozy old school vibe. service was a little slow and appetizer was served after the main meal was delivered. Food was good not great. The atmosphere made up for the food and service.
Response from the owner: Thank you for the review. We appreciate your feedback.
